Memorial Casts

Including Nursing Homes, Palliative Care & Funeral Homes

Preserving your long held memories of a loved one into a treasured keepsake is something you can be so proud of.  A hand made Memorial cast created as an art form that will last and can be passed down for generations to come. Whether your loved one is in a Brisbane Nursing Home, in Palliative Care or in a Funeral Home, we can provide this service with dignity and respect.

It's such a difficult time for families and friends, whether it be a terminal illness or sadly death. From personal experience I completely understand. We can work with you to create a forever hand casting / display in remembrance of your loved one. A display that will  honour their life and if required the addition of a small item that could reflect their hobby, interest or career.. We work at creating the hand cast in line with your wishes.

As mentioned, we can work with you to create a display that is appropriate. From Solid Black Walnut & Mahogany bases to Shadow box frames  and even stone bases, whatever your wishes.

The Moulding procedure is handled with utmost sensitivity.

Bereavement Casts

Should a family member or friend may wish to accompany me and if required decide to join hands as part of the actual cast this can be discussed with special arrangements made. Please note: This type of joint casting can prove somewhat traumatic once a loved one has passed so we offer  an *alternative casting procedure that involves two separate castings.

*Firstly we cast the nominated hand and then once the initial cast is partly cured over 2 to 3 weeks we then have a person or family members hold the sealed cast hand and then place their hands in the alginate mould along with the cured cast. Once the mould is set usually a couple of minutes the person or family members remove their hand/s leaving the cured cast in place.

As a guide the cost would be equal to 2 single casts as they would be completed on two separate moulding appointments. Please contact me for more information on this kind of procedure.

Our Ultra fine Stone is then poured into the mould and left for several hours to set. Once de-moulded all the hands are joined together. The whole process can take several weeks to complete from the initial cast to the finished piece. Your cast can then be mounted on either our custom sized American Black Walnut or Fijian Mahogany Bases.

Should additional Casts be required for family members we can organise that. As only one cast can only be done with one mould we can take multiple moulds as required.

Through the use of our proprietary casing moulds we ensure that the initial casting procedure is completed with minimal body movement in a dignified and respectful manner.

Please Note:

If you could contact me on the enquiry form or by phone to arrange a pricing estimate for our Bereavement Casting Service. Although you can see our pricing guide from the link below this may vary for bereavement casts as often times special moulds have to be made to suit the position and the actual condition of the person being cast.
