Our Process

1

An appointment is confirmed and a booking is made. A deposit may be required subject to specific requirements. Although I do not charge a service fee for travel time in the Local/Metro area, additional charges and Toll Fees  may be payable outside this zone

2

Your appointment/moulding procedure is carried out at the pre arranged time/date at your preferred location or at my home/workshop.- Allow 1 hour moulding time.

3

Your mould is then prepared  for the next stage at my workshop. Once ready, the actual pouring of the casting stone is completed.

4

Once your stone cast is initially set (approx' 4 hours) or more, it is is de-moulded from the Alginate. Attention is then given in the initial detailing your cast, and at various stages throughout the curing process to ensure a quality finish.

5

Curing: Stone casts can take up to 4 weeks (less time in hot weather) to completely cure. We contact you during the curing phase to establish your chosen colour finish and either the timber base or silk cushioned case or frame. Once cured they are then sealed and then given several coats of your chosen colour of Carnauba Wax or a special Acrylic based paint such a 24K Gold or Titanium White for example.

6

Mounting on a Base or Frame: Should your order be for a base that is made in my workshop we will confirm your instructions 14 days of the cast curing prior to making the actual base. If a Custom Shadow Box frame is chosen we would need to be advised if any style changes need to be made within 2 weeks of your initial moulding appointment.
